Pregnant Women's Health" Nursing Awareness Caravan at Helwan University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sadek Qandil, President of Helwan University, and Prof. Dr. Walid El-Sorougi, Vice President for Environmental Development and Community Service, and under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Afaf Salah Abdel Mohsen, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Prof. Dr. Zainab Hussein Ali, Vice Dean for Environment Affairs and Community Development, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Hassan Mohamed, Head of the Department of Maternal and Newborn Nursing, the Faculty of Nursing at Helwan University organized a nursing awareness caravan titled "Pregnant Women's Health".
This initiative comes as part of the faculty's commitment to raising health awareness among community members. The caravan, organized by the Department of Maternal and Newborn Nursing, aimed to promote the health of women and emphasize the importance of care during pregnancy and childbirth.
The caravan included a range of awareness activities, where faculty members and students from the Department of Maternal and Newborn Nursing provided guidance on proper nutrition during pregnancy, the importance of regular follow-up visits at maternity and childcare units, and training for administrative staff on how to conduct self-breast examinations.
Additionally, blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight measurements were taken for the participants, and nursing and health advice was given to ensure the safety of both the mother and the fetus.
Dr. Shaimaa Hassan Mohamed, Head of the Department of Maternal and Newborn Nursing, stated that the goal of organizing this caravan was to raise health awareness among pregnant women, encouraging them to adopt healthy practices that ensure a safe pregnancy for both them and their babies
