Faculty of nursing - Specialized Bachelor Nursing Sciences Program

The Specialized Bachelor’s Degree Program in Nursing is a distinguished, self‑financed program established by Ministerial Decree No. 7229 dated December 9, 2021. Upon reaching the fourth academic level, students are eligible to select a specialized track. Additionally, the program offers the opportunity for students to spend one semester at a foreign university—at their own expense—earning an official transcript and certificate for the courses completed, along with the corresponding credit hours.

To achieve excellence in specialized nursing education that fulfills the needs of the community, aligns with advancements in various scientific disciplines, and meets the demands of the local and international labor market.

Applicants must hold a General Secondary School Certificate (Science stream) or its equivalent, in accordance with the regulations set by the Supreme Council of Universities.
Applicants must be fully dedicated to their studies (i.e., engage on a full-time basis).
The applicant’s first foreign language studied must be English.
Applicants must pass the aptitude test, in compliance with regulations determined by the Supreme Council of Universities.
Applicants must pass a medical examination, demonstrating physical and mental fitness, absence of chronic or communicable diseases, no disabilities, and a body weight proportionate to their height.
International (foreign) applicants are admitted under the same general admission criteria as Egyptian students and according to the regulations of the Supreme Council of Universities.

Upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Nursing Council, the University Senate grants the Bachelor’s Degree in Specialized Nursing Sciences once the student has fulfilled all requirements for the award, including the successful completion of 140 credit hours.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Specialized Nursing Sciences requires completion of eight academic semesters, each lasting 16 weeks, or alternatively upon fulfillment of all degree requirements—including a minimum study period of three and a half years, as stipulated by the internal regulations of the colleges. Upon graduating, students must complete a one-year internship (practicum)—a calendar year equivalent to 36 actual clinical hours per week—in accordance with the Bachelor’s Nursing internship regulations.
