Overview of the Technical Diploma in Nursing

The Technical Diploma in Nursing is a form of nursing education aimed at supporting and developing nursing students to acquire a sufficient amount of knowledge and technical skills that enable them to perform their duties proficiently and effectively. The diploma program spans two years, divided into four academic semesters.

The program seeks to graduate technically qualified nurses equipped with nursing sciences and practical nursing skills, enabling them to provide nursing care that meets the needs of the community. Additionally, the program aligns with international advancements by improving the quality of nursing care provided, based on evidence-based research.

General Admission Requirements and Enrollment Procedures for the Technical Diploma in Nursing

  • Possession of a General Secondary School Certificate (Science Section) or its equivalent.
  • Graduates of Health Services Assistant Schools with a minimum score of85%, limited to 5% of the total number of accepted students.
  • Study of English as a first or second language.
  • Successful completion of a medical examination.
  • Submission of an application for admission through the Universities Admission Coordination Office, in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • International students are accepted under the same general admission conditions as their Egyptian counterparts and in accordance with the rules set by the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • Transfer students are accepted in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the Supreme Council of Universities.

Duration of Study for the Technical Diploma in Nursing

  • The Technical Nursing Diploma program spans two academic years, followed by a six-month mandatory internship (practicum credited with 36 actual clinical hours per week).
